Now in its 4th year of operations, the Peru shelter houses up to 50 girls who are victims of sexual abuse. Currently, there are about 40 teen girls there, along with 8 babies. More than 200 girls have received refuge and love at the Hovde House since it opened!
When the facility was built, they extended an existing water supply from a nearby mountain stream. Over the years though, many of the girls have experienced frequent stomach illnesses and skin rashes. It turns out the water supply isn’t as clean as they originally thought. Now, after months of investigation and consideration of solutions, they have decided to dig a well on site. Not only will this well provide clean water, it will allow them to better control the water supply. The current system suffers frequent outages during heavy rains when the stream overflows and the pipes and tanks fill with mud.
Here is where you can help for only $5.00! Our team of 10 has a goal of $200 each (that means I need 40 of you to donate $5.00)! Come on! That’s soooo doable!!! Then we have an anonymous donor who will match our $2,000! We are well on our way to a well! How much can you give today? Our team thanks you for your support! We can not wait for these kids to have CLEAN WATER!!!
